Background-Casey Moore was born on July 26, 1980, and grew up in Largo Florida. He played both Basketball, and Baseball in high school. In 98 he red-shirted at Stanford. Casey became the starting fullback in 99. He also had a 94-yard run vs. Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl that year. In 2000 Moore had a solid year. As a junior he had a 6.4 yards per carry average. Going into his senior year Moore had started 33 consecutive games.
Positives- Casey is a very good blocker. He has led the way for Kerry Carter who is one of the better Pac 10 runners. He also picks up most pass rushers. Casey is a solid receiver, and has 16 receptions so far this year. He is also a power runner, who is averaging 6.4 yards per carry. Moore is also a very durable player evident by him having started 33 consecutive games going into his senior year. Casey is also a team leader, and is one of the smartest players in the draft.
Negatives-The big concern I have with Moore is he is a bit on the stiff side. I would also like to see him explode into blockers a little more.
Final Judgment- Moore is a solid all-around player, and could fit well in most offenses. If he can improve his overall athletic ability, he could be a top 10 FB in the NFL. If the draft were on 11-18-02 I would take Moore in the 5th round
