Background-Brad was born on 4-22-02 to Vida, and Charles Banks. He went to high school at Belle Glades (Florida), and led them to a state championship as a senior. Banks then enrolled at Central Florida, but transferred to Hinds Junior College after his red-shirt freshman year. His first year at Hinds Brad played WR, but took over as a QB as a sophomore and led his team to an 11-1 record. Following his time at Hinds, Banks enrolled at Iowa. He spilt time at QB his first year there, with Kyle McCann. He then exploded as a senior, and is my pick to win the Heisman.
Positives- Brad is a very accurate passer who can complete all of his passes from the short dump offs to the long outs. There is no doubt that Brad understands the offense, and that he is a quick thinker. I also like the fact that he is a very mobile QB, I can't tell you how many times when the play has broken down, and Brad takes off and gains a first down. He is also a very calm leader. I have never seen him get nervous during a game, and he has also been named to the Iowa leadership group.
Negatives-There are a few worries with Banks. One of these is he is not a pure drop back passer, and may not be a great fit in some offenses. I also think he is a bit on the small side, which will cause him to slide in the draft. The last concern I have with him is some of long balls may not have the zip that some other QB's throws have.
What Others Are Saying-

"Arguably, no quarterback in the country has been more consistent. Banks is the nation's leader in pass efficiency. In the course of three months, he has become the heart and soul of the Hawkeye's."

Final Judgment- There may not be a better leader in college football then Banks, but the fact that he is not a pure drop back passer may hurt his draft stock. I would consider Banks in the 6th round of the draft.
